Grateful for Telehealth: How Oregon Telemed Supports You Through the Holiday Week
(Closed Thanksgiving Day & the Day After)
The holiday season is here, and with it comes travel, family gatherings, busy schedules, and—let’s be honest—a whole lot of stress. At Oregon Telemed (OTM), we know how important it is to access fast, reliable, compassionate healthcare during the holidays. Even though our team will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and the day after (Friday), we are still committed to supporting you before and after the holiday weekend with convenient virtual urgent care, telehealth visits, and online medical support for patients across Oregon.
Whether you’re spending Thanksgiving at home in Eugene, visiting family in Bend, or traveling across the state for the holidays, telehealth makes staying healthy easier than ever.
Holiday Week Telehealth Care You Can Count On
During the days leading up to Thanksgiving, OTM remains open with our extended hours to make sure you and your family can get care without needing to sit in a crowded clinic or urgent care waiting room.
Common reasons patients reach out during Thanksgiving week include:
Seasonal colds, flu, and sinus infections
Medication refills
GI issues during holiday travel
Anxiety and stress during family gatherings
Rashes, minor injuries, or allergic reactions
UTIs and other uncomfortable but treatable concerns
With Oregon Telemed’s virtual care, a licensed Oregon provider can evaluate your symptoms, prescribe medication when appropriate, and send prescriptions to any Oregon pharmacy—no matter where you’re traveling.
OTM Holiday Closure Announcement
To give our providers and staff time to rest, recharge, and spend time with loved ones, Oregon Telemed will be closed on:
? Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day)
? Friday, November 28 (Day After Thanksgiving)
We’ll reopen with our normal extended hours on Saturday and Sunday.
We encourage patients to schedule appointments before Thursday if you know you may need:
Refills
A medical note
Pre-travel guidance
Treatment for developing symptoms
Planning ahead ensures you have what you need throughout the holiday weekend.
Why Telehealth Is the Best Solution for Holiday Stress
The week of Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel periods of the year. Instead of waiting in long lines at walk-in clinics or dealing with unpredictable holiday hours, OTM gives you immediate access to care from your phone, tablet, or laptop.
Benefits of using OTM during holiday week:
Open extended hours before and after Thanksgiving
Fast appointments, often same-day
No travel, no waiting rooms, no exposure to sick patients
Available anywhere in Oregon
Local Oregon providers you can trust
Ideal for families, travelers, caregivers, and college students coming home for break
From sudden colds to holiday stress to simple prescription issues, telehealth ensures you’re supported.
How to Prepare for Holiday Week Healthcare Needs
Here are a few tips to help you stay ahead:
1. Schedule Early
Appointment slots fill quickly before a major holiday. If you need anything, book your visit as soon as possible.
2. Check Your Medications
Running low on meds? Request refills early so your pharmacy has time to fill prescriptions.
3. Keep Telehealth Tools Ready
Make sure your phone or device is charged and that you know how to access your appointment link.
4. Use Us for the Small Stuff
Holiday week is a great time to use OTM for minor illnesses and non-emergency care instead of urgent care.
