We’re part of the Cascade Medical Associates group that has been providing care for patients in the emergency department at McKenzie Willamette Medical Center and Occupational Health at Cascade Health Solutions
Brian T. Hoyt, MD, FACEP
Supervising Physician
Brian T. Hoyt, MD FACEP is a board-certified emergency physician who grew up in Eugene. He trained at OHSU in Portland, Oregon and after living and working in Longview, WA for 15 years, moved back to Lane County in 2014 where joined the team of excellent doctors and providers at McKenzie Willamette Medical Center. Dr. Hoyt has been involved in leadership as medical director of the emergency department and on the medical staff at the hospital. He has been a physician advisor for EMS agencies and is on the Area Trauma Advisory Board for region 3 of the State of Oregon.
Mark Brauner, D.O., FACEP
Supervising Physician
Mark E Brauner, D.O., FACEP, graduated from Indiana University in his hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. He completed medical school at Ohio University and his emergency medicine residency at The Ohio State University. Mark has intensively studied and has been an academic and entrepreneur in the field of resuscitation from cardiac arrest. He has traveled extensively and has taught emergency medicine internationally.
Nancy Burgess, NP
Nurse Practitioner
Nancy Burgess is an Adult Nurse Practitioner who received her master’s degree in nursing from University of Texas Houston Health Science Center in December 2004 and graduated with honors. She practiced at MD Anderson Cancer Center, has worked in primary care, sleep medicine and several other specialties. She enjoys cooking, traveling, golfing, mountain biking and camping when she is not working.
Pamela Cotton, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner
Pamela Cotton brings more than 25 years of diverse nursing experience. She specializes in family medicine and orthopedic injuries. With a background in hospital, ER, and urgent care settings, she offers comprehensive care rooted in years of hands-on expertise. After raising her family in Arizona, Pamela relocated to Oregon upon completing her Nurse Practitioner program at Grand Canyon University. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with her husband and their dogs, embracing life’s adventures together.
Jackie Loutzenheiser, PA
Physician Associate
Jackie Loutzenheiser is a board-certified physician assistant from Boise, Idaho. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Boise State University and went on to complete her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. Jackie is passionate about providing empathetic and diligent care to each of her patients in the emergency medical setting. She recognizes the importance of initiating appropriate and timely treatment. When Jackie isn’t practicing medicine, you can find her out skiing, mountain biking, or on the trails running with her yellow lab, Jackson.
William Sherman, PA
Physician Associate
William Sherman, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant practicing emergency medicine at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center. He was born and raised in Ellicott City, Maryland, and attended the University of Colorado Boulder where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience. Prior to attending physician assistant school, he worked as an EMT in Boulder Colorado. He then went on to earn a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville, TN with ED experience in Portland, OR, and Cleveland, OH. William has a strong interest in emergency medicine. In his free time, William likes to adventure outdoors with his wife backcountry skiing, mountain biking, and whitewater kayaking.
Beth Rathbun, PA
Physician Associate
Beth Rathbun was born and raised in the Willamette Valley. She completed her PA training at University of Washington School of Medicine/MEDEX NW Physician Assistance program, where she graduated with honors. Upon completion, she returned to Oregon to work in her home community. After the start of the pandemic, Ms. Rathbun found telemedicine to be immensely helpful in expanding care locally, as well as to distant locations in Oregon where patients would otherwise have a difficult time accessing critical services. She looks forward to bringing this same enthusiasm for telemedicine to the team at Cascade Medical Associates.
Peter Nauss, PA
Physician Associate
Peter Nauss is a board-certified Physician Assistant licensed in the state of Oregon. He is from a rural town in Southwest Virginia and has six siblings. He works for Cascade Medical Associates at McKenzie-Willamette Emergency department. Prior to employment Mr. Nauss attended Lincoln Memorial University’s Physician Assistant program. He spends his leisure time outdoors snowboarding, mountain biking or white-water kayaking.
