Oregon Telemed to Launch Mental Health Services in 2026: Expanding Access to Care Across Oregon
Oregon Telemed to Launch Mental Health Services in 2026: Expanding Access to Care Across Oregon
Oregon Telemed (OTM) is proud to announce the upcoming launch of Oregon Telemed Behavioral Health (OTM BH)—a statewide teletherapy and mental health initiative designed to make professional counseling, psychiatry, and emotional wellness services accessible to every Oregonian, no matter where they live. Beginning in early 2026, OTM Behavioral Health will bring licensed mental health providers directly to patients through secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions, available seven days a week.
A Vision Rooted in Accessibility and Compassion
Since its founding, Oregon Telemed has been driven by one mission: to bridge gaps in healthcare access through innovation and local expertise. With the success of our primary care and urgent care telehealth programs, OTM is now expanding that vision to include behavioral health—addressing the growing need for accessible, affordable, and timely mental health support in Oregon.
Mental health remains one of the most pressing healthcare challenges across the state. Long wait times, transportation barriers, and provider shortages often prevent individuals from receiving timely care. OTM Behavioral Health will remove these barriers by connecting clients directly to licensed professionals from their own homes, workplaces, or community kiosks located at partner sites such as White Bird Clinic, shelters, and community resource centers.
Why 2026? A Strategic Expansion with Community in Mind
The 2026 launch aligns with OTM’s strategic roadmap for statewide telehealth integration. Through partnerships with local hospitals, pharmacies, and county health programs, Oregon Telemed has built the digital and operational infrastructure necessary to expand beyond medical care into mental and emotional wellness.
Our team has spent the past year developing the foundation for OTM BH—including clinical protocols, insurance billing systems, and an upcoming behavioral health portal within our existing telehealth platform. This portal will allow clients to book appointments, complete assessments (such as the PHQ-9 or GAD-7), and securely message their therapist—all in one place.
The program will include:
Individual and couples therapy via telehealth
Medication management for anxiety, depression, and mood disorders
Faith-informed and culturally competent counseling
Youth and family therapy, including trauma-informed interventions
Group therapy and psychoeducation programs
Community-based kiosk access for patients without smartphones or stable internet
Evidence-Based Care for Modern Life
OTM Behavioral Health will combine clinical excellence with convenience. Every provider in the network will be trained in evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Providers will also have access to ongoing professional development, ensuring that care remains current, compassionate, and culturally sensitive.
What makes this initiative unique is its integration with OTM’s existing telemedicine system. For instance, a patient seen for chronic pain or diabetes management through Oregon Telemed may also receive mental health screening and immediate referral to OTM BH, ensuring whole-person care—physical, emotional, and spiritual.
Serving Oregon’s Most Underserved Communities
Oregon Telemed is dedicated to reaching patients often left out of traditional mental health systems—rural residents, older adults, students, veterans, and individuals facing housing insecurity. By 2026, our goal is to operate at least five behavioral health kiosks across Lane County, expanding to surrounding counties through new partnerships.
These kiosks, built in collaboration with Lane County Health and Human Services and local community partners, will ensure equitable access to behavioral healthcare—even for individuals without personal devices or private spaces.
Insurance, Affordability, and Access
In keeping with OTM’s commitment to transparency and affordability, OTM Behavioral Health will accept most major insurance plans, including OHP (Oregon Health Plan). We’re also working with local grants and CCOs to provide low-cost and no-cost sessions for individuals in need. Private pay options will remain available for those seeking flexible scheduling or out-of-network coverage.
The Future of Mental Health in Oregon
As Oregon continues to face a mental health provider shortage, innovative solutions like OTM Behavioral Health are vital. By combining telehealth technology, community partnership, and compassionate clinical care, Oregon Telemed aims to transform how mental health support is delivered—making it more immediate, inclusive, and sustainable.
Our mission is clear: Your Health, Your Space, Our Expertise.
With the launch of Oregon Telemed Behavioral Health in 2026, that mission will reach deeper—helping Oregonians not only recover but thrive.
